Adobe Download Assistant (ADA) : Download All the Latest Adobe Applications with One-Click

The Adobe Download Assistant is an AIR application used with Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 trial product downloads to improve download reliability.

When you download a Creative Suite 5.5 trial product, you are prompted to install the Adobe Download Assistant to start the download. (If you have already installed the Adobe Download Assistant, the download starts automatically.)

After the trial software is downloaded, Adobe Download Assistant automatically starts the product installation.

[ How To Use ]

1. Do one of the following:

• Go to the Adobe Product Downloads page and click the Try button for the product you want to download.
• Go to a Creative Suite 5.5 product page (go to Adobe.com, click Products, and then click the product name). Click the Try button in the right column.

2. Click the Download Now button: The Adobe Download Assistant downloads to your computer and then start downloading your trial software.

3. (Optional) After Adobe Download Assistant is installed, you can start it at any time and select a product to download at the bottom of the window. Use the left and right arrows to browse available products. The list updates as new products become available to download with the Adobe Download Assistant.

[ System Requirements ]

Adobe Download Assistant uses the Adobe AIR runtime, which allows web applications to run as standalone applications instead of in a browser.

AIR is cross-platform, so the Adobe Download Assistant is available for Mac OS, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. These operating systems are the same ones that Creative Suite trial versions use.

[ Prompts ]

• You need have or create an Adobe ID first to “Sign In” (free)!
• Click the Pause/Resume button in Adobe Download Assistant window.
• Note: In some states of operation, the Pause/Resume button becomes a Reset Product Download button , which allows you to restart the download.
