No$GBA : The First Popular GBA/NDS Emulator

NO$GBA (Nocash Game Boy Advance)Â pronounced as No Cash GBA is a Nintendo DS / DS Lite and GameBoy Advance emulator forÂ MS-DOS, Windows XP, VISTA and 7.

NO$GBA options include emulating all known save types as well as and multiple cartridges reading. NoGBA supports multiplayer and is able to load multiple NDS ROM files for linking games. Multiplayer for GBA Games is also supported.

Even if you have NO cash you can play Nintendo DS and Gameboy Advance games. What you need is a PC, some NDS roms or GBA roms and No$gba emulator program. NoGBA will let your PC ‘pretend’ to be a game console and so you can play DS games with NO ca$h. Emulator could be called NoNDS or No$DS, but as it was started as a Gameboy Advance roms emulator and only later acquired ability to play DS games it continues to be called No$GBA and not No$NDS or anything else like that.

Of all the NDS emulators No$GBA has the best compatibility with commercial DS ROMs. And of course it supports running Nintendo DS homebrew.
NO$GBA includes a variety of options for emulation, including multiple save types, and multiple cartridge reading.
NO$GBA is also able to load multiple GBA/NDS ROM files for the purpose of multiplayer functions.
No$GBA is also the only current Gameboy Advance emulator that can emulate multiple gameboys at the same time and link them for multiplayer gameplay. This will let you trade Pokemons on emulator and play all the GB Multiplayer games.
With a little help from NO$Zoomer games can be played on full screen.
No$gba may include zoom option for the screen in the new version 2.7 or 2.8, but untill then to make the screen bigger you have to use no%gba 2.6a with zoomer add-on application.

[ How To Use Multiplayer ]

Put the GBA BIOS file in the emulator’s folder, and rename it to “gba.rom”
Run No$GBA.exe
Pick a GBA image (no ZIP)
Go to “Options” / “Emulation setup”
Increase the number of “Emulated Gameboys”
In “Link Gamepaks”, set “Gamepaks in all GBA”
In “Reset/Startup Entrypoint”, set “GBA BIOS (Nintendo logo”)
Click OK, you should then see 2 GBA screens side by side
Right click on the left window, click on “Link” so that the window comes back to normal.
Then redo the right-click and click “Link” , and here we go, the 2nd gameboy does boot!

Please remember that the more gameboy’s you emulate the stonger the pc will have to be!

[ Statement ]

No$GBA does NOT support ZIP files so you have to unzip roms before you play.

NO$GBA is considered one of the most accurate emulators for the NDS and GBA around, however, it does have some compatibility issues. These include the fact the emulator is fairly CPU intensive to run with full 3D support, some games, such as Orcs & Elves and Duck Amuck do not run, due to problems with video codecs, Multiplayer functions may not work for all players, depending on NO$GBAâ€™s ability to install the nocashio driver, and there is currently no known support for Nintendo WFC or using GBA games in the second slot while running a NDS ROM.

[ Notes ]

If you encountered an error similar to the following:

“Could not read the data. Turn power off and reinsert the game card“

I will tell that you probably place the “No$GBA” folder under a folder named irregularly, such as “D:\[Gnrsu.com]\”, and there are two solutions:

Just delete the whole current wrong “No$GBA” folder and unzip a new one into the correctly named folder, then run it and all done! (I think this is the easier way)
