Project64K (PJ64K) : Unofficial Version of Nintendo 64 Emulator with Multiplayer Netplay Support

Project64K is a Nintendo 64 emulator. It is a Modified version of the Project64 emulator that supports multiplayer games using the Kaillera network.

Project64K is a modification of the open-source Project64 version 1.4 with a hacked support for Kaillera multiplayer network support (NetPlay).

Nemu64 was the first to support online play, but Project64K is more famous because of Project64. Later came the more accurate and efficient 1964, and in 2007 Project64K was criticized as overly faulty as Mupen64k (later named Mupen64++ before the project was lost and replaced) came into development as the strongest N64 emulator supporting NetPlay.

Still over 99 percent of NetPlay continue using Project64K usually because they never read about or looked into it.

[ Development Background ]

Project64K is Project64 1.4′s source compiled with Kaillera. Back in 2003, someone named Hotquik started this after compiling PJ64K with Kaillera. For whatever reason his version of the emulator became very popular and every on used it and still uses it. No one will change to another emulator because Kaillera players dislike change.

Mupen64k is much better for online gameplay because it has less ds but no one uses it. So we are forced to use 0.13. However, Me and some of my friends and some people over at Emuditial decided to update this old emulator and this is how we have this site.

0.13 had many bugs and flaws, one of the which is only 300 max cheats, default plugins and many other issues, through trial and error we have fixed these problems plus some others. There are still some things to do and still things to work on such as improving online gameplay with heavier roms such as golden eye and perfect dark.

[ Simple Tutorial ]

Set roms inside the “Rom” folder in your Project64k folder first!

Windows:

1. Run Pj64k
2. Go to Settings
3. Go to directories.
4. Now set them to where they need to be set (or go to Tools folder and RomFix and EmuFix. and PluginFix (Depending on your computer).
5. Now refresh your emulator with F5 or click Refresh rom list

Note: Windows Vista and Win7 do not run Jabo7 gfx so do not add it or use it!

Mac/Linux:

• “Ctrl + C” for Cheats
• “Ctrl + N” for Netplay
• “Ctrl + S” for Settings
• “Ctrl + F” for Full screen
• “F5″ for Refresh rom list
• “F11″ for Start Emulation
• “F12″ for Stop Emulation

Tips: Close cheat window when you are going to full screen!
